Anaconda Dribble DVD Pre-Release Info: Get it NOW!

If you have secured your seat for tonight’s event at the official Anaconda Dribble website then you’ve already got an email from Bone Ho and The Virts telling you that the Pre-Release will be open for 60 minutes before the official launch.

Now, I can tell you that this “special” VIP window will be open in about 9 hours from now so if you haven’t put your email in the Reservation List go do it as soon as you can because it is right now filled with 520 people and growing.

“We’ve all watched X-Men Origins: Wolverine… where Gambit makes a cameo of sorts. Whilst Taylor Kitsch was awesome as gambit, his role wasn’t quite the kickass card dude in the cartoons and comics. I mean he barely used his signature playing cards!

With that…here’s our little take on Gambit after watching the movie… well… if he did card flourishes.

The Virts meet Bone Ho – Convention in Vietnam

“Basically we flew over to Vietnam for some stuff we’re working on with Bone. At the same time he had notified people on a Vietnam flourishing forum that “Virtuoso is going to visit Vietnam”, and eventually a event was planned for flourishers all across vietnam. People came down from everywhere, and some even cycled from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh just to be a part of it.

The event started with a lecture of sorts on technique, style and training methods, where I taught people some one card manipulation and my 10 meter boomerang. It was pretty funny, because for every sentence I spoke, Bone had to translate it into Vietnamese… but they were really receptive and appreciative… and it went really well.

Then it followed with a competition which me and Daren had the honour of judging. That was probably the most awesome part… to see how in a short span of a few years, the art has spread to so many around the world, and to see how good so many people have become. It’s actually inspiring… because some of the contestants had only flourished for a few months… but their standard was astounding.

The competition followed with me, Daren, and Bone doing a little impromptu performance together, with the performance ending with a short ‘battle’ between me and Daren. It was so damn fun… and funny. =p

The whole thing ended with an autograph and photo session with the fans and man it was a hell of an experience.
We didn’t expect so many people to turn up to the convention… and the warm greeting that we received from the people in Vietnam was beautiful. =)

So yeah… that’s what I can say about the convention.
I think that the convention meant so much to me and the rest of the Virts because it represents so much more than just a ‘meet up’, but how everything is falling into place beautifully for us and the art… how everything is growing… and how excited we are with everything that’s planned and everything we have to share with everybody. 2009 is going to be very exciting.”

Eugene Soh meets The Virts – Starbucks Footage

I took a trip to Singapore to see relatives in the summer of 2008 (as I do every 2 years). This time I decided to arrange a meet-up with the world renoun flourishers virtuoso aka the virts.
However, I could not meet up with Elijah.

So I met up with Kevin Ho, Huron Low, and Daren Yeow.

I kept these videos to myself and a couple of other friends.

Singapore Jam Session 2008

On 26th November 2008, Jenil from Philippines set forth for a journey to Singapore and Malaysia on an epic card expedition, where he encountered the motley crew of Singaporean flourishers that has spammed the internet with their relentless videos, a red sports car, an oblong-shaped building and a big ferris wheel other things.

Featuring in this video are Jaspas who openly announces his email address, Ling who does that swishing thing again, Leon who likes Cerca trova a lot, Jordan who messed behind Ambrose, Ambrose who did J5, Tom who is actually Ming Tjong, Daren Yeow and Huron Low from The Virts who have telepathic skills in synchronising flourishes, and last but not least, Lee Asher who graced the video with some wise words. And, thanks to Jenil on behalf of Singapore Tourism Board and KL.
