The end result is spectacular and to our knowledge, something that has never been done both in the fashion and magic industries. The video, directed by Silas Howard and Ben Peyser of Standard Quality, was shot with a Red camera on location at the Global Rebels warehouse. It incorporates a clever special effect that required us to wear green body suites and be filmed performing flourishes against a green screen.”

Here is another promo video shot in downtown Los Angeles by Dan and Dave Buck for English Laundry to display during the 2009 MAGIC show in Las Vegas.

The goal of this project was to create eye-candy that would visually attract attention and create buzz for English Laundry’s new product line without the aid of a mannequin.

At my parents house for Christmas, so I shot a few flourishes on Christmas Eve. It was extremely dark inside hence the darkness of the footage. Just foolin around I guess.

Ok guys, the first Up and Coming post is here! I want to introduce you to these new french flourishers, Ferrand Jeremy and Mayo.

We know the Scenacle guys (Aristote, Mattgic and Maxim), the Fun With Aces guys (Dimitri Arleri and Ryoma) the Queen Hearts crew (Paolo Ascer & co.) and maybe a couple more but there are not so many french dudes out there that have appeared here at .thecuso … Can you point me to another one? (check the archives, I’m sure you can)

What you have to do here is to obviously check out their video and take a couple of minutes of your day to write a constructive comment about what you’ve just seen. Of course you want your comment to be as in-depth and relevant as you can if you want to opt in for the rewards but that doesn’t mean you have to only say positive things about the video.

Be objective, highlight the good things but don’t forget the bad things because those are what really matter in the end.

You know this Up and Coming initiative wasn’t conceived just to encourage people to write more comments but to help the newcomers to get quicker to the top so think of ways to make that possible and let’s move the art forward one step at a time.

If you live in France or plan to go there anytime soon you might want to contact these guys for a little jam or meetup. Maybe you see them in your next local convention and recognize them for being here or maybe you just want to improve your non-canadian french accent… ^^

You can see Dan and/or Dave perform their famous carnahan fan flourish, wich by the way has that name because of Smokin’ Aces director Joe Carnahan, as a flashback from the first movie.

Later in the trailer we catch a glimpse at ribbon spread with what look to be the old Dunes Casino playing cards.

I’m not 100% sure about this but maybe you card guys can shed some light on this.

Federal agents once again match wits with a cadre of creative killers in the high-octane feature-length film Smokin Aces 2: Assassins Ball. Walter Weed (Tom Berenger) is an unassuming desk jockey at the FBI when the Bureau uncovers a plot to assassinate him. A team of degenerate, psychotic assassins dispatched by mystery man Hal Leuco to win a huge bounty includes a resourceful beauty who has a unique method of killing her prey (Martha Higareda), a power-tool wielding psychopath (Vinnie Jones) and a deadly master of disguise (Tommy Flanagan). All right guys! Finally, it’s here.

First, a little credits correction. The artist “Mogwai” is mistakenly credited where “Explosions in the Sky” should have been. Don’t get me wrong, they’re both fantastic bands – but somehwere during the editing process the actual track used must have been confused with something else…

It’s been one hell of a ride – and by that, I mean it’s been both hell editing this, but it’s also been great times!
I didn’t actually watch it in all of its entirety until I had completely finished it and prepared it for upload, so I was probably just as excited to watch it as you guys!

Well. With that being said, I apologise for the amount of time spent editing such a ’simple’ video as some of you may think – but any of you out there who have tried editing something from what you consider to be ‘insufficient and bad’ footage knows what I’m talking about. I do however think I made the very best of it, and I’m honestly really pleased with the outcome.

This a short review of Dan and Dave’s Smoke and Mirror first edition cards by Hyo. I loved the feel of this video so I though you’d enjoy it too.

You also get a glimpse of his Nebula sequence!

The first edition is sold out so probably the only place you’ll see them is at eBay. I got myself a couple of decks back when the Bucks were selling them at their site.

If you collect playing cards and don’t have these yet run or you won’t find a sealed one any more.

The sequel to the Trilogy is almost here. This teaser shows a few of it’s contents. If you had a doubt about buying it then I’m sure you will change your mind after watching this video.

Portal looks so sexy!

Dan and Dave Buck have been added to the Blackpool Magic Convention 2009 line up.

Dan and Dave have been at the forefront of their craft since they were only fourteen years old. They have helped mold a new genre of card magic, a style visually rich and direct.

When they were only 17 years old they performed alongside Guy Hollingworh, Paul Gertner, Chad Long and Bill Malone at the first MAGIC Live convention in Las Vegas, and were the only performers to receive a standing ovation.

Now they will head to Blackpool in February for the Blackpool Magic Convention which takes place 20th 21st and 22nd February 2009.
