It is no surprise how time passes so fleetingly in our lives and how we take simple things like a deck of cards for granted but the paradox is that when we look a little deeper and exalt imagination, infinite possibilities abound.

I would like to thank the community for inspiring me through the videos they have contributed for the past few years. I would like to thank the people I had the honour of meeting up with on Saturdays, the regular so called “Singapore” gang of guys, you know who you are.

I would like to say that this video would not have been possible if not for the ideas I have gleaned from the community and it is this art that completes me as a person.

Without videos as a medium of thought exchange nothing in this art would have been possible and hence I would like to thank Dan and Dave, TheCuso.info, UnitedCardists as well as Theory 11 for organizing these contests that brings continuity and excitement to the community.

Hey awesome people, sorry for the little hiatus from the flourishing scene. As I have not been actively producing videos for quite some time,
I saw the ‘Preqel’ contest as an opportunity for a comeback.

As for the video, I would say that it is a fast-paced video packed with synchronized moves. After all the hard work we’re pretty satisfied with the end product. Just so you know, we missed a night of sleep for the filming of the video.

Like what Ben had mentioned above, I would like to thank the individuals and communities like UnitedCardists, Theory 11, D&D and TheCuso for holding up contests and keeping the community alive.

Ben You and Harapan Ong – Ben-tastic

Apparently, it’s not that rare to find awesome card guys that live near you, since I live in Singapore, a country so small that… that it’s so small.

I found out that Ben You (of wecallitshockeffect fame again) lives near me as well, and we met up for a session. We got chased out of Starbucks and ended up in a McDonald’s where we filmed all these stuff you’re about to see in the video. As usual, his mastery of the pasteboards floored me, and I am lucky enough to witness some of his talent, both in magic and flourishes.

Song is “All I Have to do is Dream” by The Everly Brothers.

Ambrose – Morbidni Cut Tutorial

Clocks ticking, bells ringing. It’s tutorial time! ( Gosh I’m getting lame, but I just love entertaining myself )

Back to seriousness?

Always wanted to create a complex-looking cut, and I think this is the best that I can come up with. Full of twists and re-grips, definitely something you can practice on day and night.

I tried my best in making this tutorial elaborate and detailed for you, and have added different angles to compensate the unseeen portions. Do hope you enjoy learning.

Featuring Ben You, an underground flourisher that has been ‘underneath’ since his last video ‘Crossroads’. And now he’s back for recognition with his sick concepts and moves.

Introducing Jonathan, an unknown to most, that has emerged for the crown. He has been into cards for 4 long years, and this is his supposedly ‘first’ video. His signature move, one handed killer ‘Laika’, can be seen from 1:25 to 1:32.

With that said, we bring to you shockeffect.
( You never know how much we’ve been through to get this video done, so treasure it! )
