François Dubois and Ladislas Toubart – Pulse

Pulsebanner François Dubois and Ladislas Toubart Pulse

A flourish cards movie filmed
in the beautiful town of Brussels.

We just wanted to show our personnal
skill in this 3 minutes video:
Ladislas, his skill of his first year practicing cards
and François, his skill in editing and filming.

I just know Ladislas for about 10 months, at the beginning the idea was to make a little
video about him, but with some time, we tought that it was a better idea to make something more seriously.
So we did 5 days filming, and something like 3 weeks of editing.
Hope you like the video!

The video was shooted with a Canon D500
18-55mm

SONG USED: Spaceman (Original Mix) by Way Out West

SOFTWARES USED:
Sony Vegas 08
Adobe After Effects CS4
VirtualDub

- Francois

Nice quality and filmic look. I like the intro with the text and some parts of the film looks great. Nice music too… I like :). Oh and… the flourish was alright, but keep it up!

    Thx for blogging !!!

This is pretty cool I like your style and I am not only saying that because it looks like we have the same taste. :)

Awesome, i like the style of your video.

I think Alejandro blogged this for the filming and editing, which was admittedly excellent. However the flourishing standard wasn’t as high, and I think this would have been better in an “Up and Coming” setting.

However, that’s not your fault guys, and I think you did a great job. As I said, the editing is to be praised. Much artistic work went into those shots and locations too; good choices!

From a flourishing perspective, I think the main thing is to keep a steady pace. There were almost always pauses during cuts, where the move required a finger position change or something, but as other people have said, if you “keep it up”, you’ll see improvement over time! It’s a case (as it is so often) of repetition bringing continuous fluidity.

I for one am genuinely looking forward to seeing more in the future :-)

@Brendan, ahah good to see that there are still some people who likes typography :)

@Tarvi(David), it was my first video as cameraman(filming) and I can say that Ladislas(flourisher) helped me a lot, cause he knwown exactly what he wanted; everything were planned in the way he wanted the video. The editing was my part, and it seems that many people likes it, it’s always a pleasure!

i’m not blaming anyone, or bitching about anything, the moves here are a 3/5, editing is a 5…
but is it just me or par flourishing get into thecuso because of excellent cameras & editing.i’m not barely talking about this one, but has anyone seen the guy sitting on the bench park? i’ve quite seen a lot more talented guys on youtube who just can’t probably get good cameras, or lack the software for editing…
i dunno.someone clear things out for me, thanks…
