“Today in cardistry, you are looked down upon as a ‘noob’ for using a ‘custom’ deck. Liking Vipers or Black Tigers is out of the question and people nowadays are labeled by what kind of deck they use rather than by their skill. I am here to break that idea. Black Jerry’s have returned.”

This video is beautiful!

aw man, its like youre trying so hard to be just like dan and dave, copy their moves, video style, even fricken font and style.of.all.undercase.with.dots
if you wanna do that bring some higher skill like the Hestnes system video.

Loved the music choice.
June 22nd, 2009 at 7:45 pm
Hey Trash you have to admit that he is smooth, even though he doesn’t show to many creations (most of his stuff are variations and combos) he has a lot of skill. And he knows how to make good videos!

Don’t.think.you.were.made.to.be.a.DND.wannabe….
June 22nd, 2009 at 7:50 pm
Wow, well that’s going to stay in my head for a whole a while now…
June 22nd, 2009 at 8:00 pm
@Trashmanfletch: That was hardly trying to copy DnD’s style. Moves.. sure… everybody here uses their flourishes so no biggy there right?
Video style… was that reminiscent of DnD? Maybe ever so slightly.
The font looks like Helvetica. Helvitica has a great history and probably one of the most popular and well known fonts out there. The whole Helvetica and writing style is quite a modern approach to design, and personally, I love it. A lot of people use it nowadays, and until the fashion dies out, I see not problem with it.
The video itself, I loved it. The music choice was dramatic and soothing at the same time, which really captured my attention. I cared not about the cards at all. The moves were what did it for me. It was very smooth, continuous and flowing. What it lacked was just a tad bit more speed I suppose, but I’m not one to say as I’m nowhere near that speed.

lol good call on the helvetica. Im obviously in the minority here by not being impressed. oh well :-)

shoot can’t believe I made it all the way through that… I seriously thought I’d seen the last of the dan and dave clone wannabes. this kind’ve film makes me lose interest in cards.

I’m completely with trash on that. The vid wasn’t terrible, but it was close.
June 23rd, 2009 at 4:39 am
Hey guys-thanks a lot for the good and bad comments. In my defense, the genre of music is nothing like theirs, the font and ‘bold and thin style’ has never been used by them…if you wanna get technical, the lighting nor the editing is nothing like dan and daves.(go watch the trilogy bonus footage video and compare) It’s funny how you get ridiculed for using d&d’s flourishes nowadays. You call me a ‘fanboy’ for presenting their stuff….so I take it your not a fan of dan and dave’s material and you’re a woman?
June 23rd, 2009 at 5:07 am
Props for smoothness and editing. Looking forward to seeing more variety in future videos =D

i thought this was a beautiful vid; it’s a work of art
good job m.herp
June 23rd, 2009 at 8:27 am
@michael no need to call people girls; it’s just that there’s a certain point in flourishing when you have to put down the trilogy and create your own material. for most of us that happens less than a year in. You’ve been flourishing for what, 3 years now, and your still doing that mockingbird/pandora mix? like naturegod said, this type of vid makes me wonder why I wath so many vids, really off-putting.
June 23rd, 2009 at 3:08 pm
Well i like that video, very smooth execution of moves.
Maybe too much editing for my personal taste but the video entertained me alot. I think thats the most important part in what we do – Entertainment. People just focus too much on “to be different”. In the end it ends with “original” variations.
June 23rd, 2009 at 4:30 pm
Sean, I see what you mean. Probably the reason I still do a lot of variations is bc for the last two years I’ve been working way more on editing than flourishes, that’s probably why I haven’t improved in flourishing much haha. As for orginal flourishes, half of the flourishes shown are my original moves. The other half are varitions and stuff from the bucks. Cheers-
June 23rd, 2009 at 10:38 pm
I don’t care what anyone says I though it was beautiful.
It’s like gymnastics, all the moves are pretty much the same and everybody does them. To make them this elegant, smooth, graceful and beautiful is an accomplishment. I don’t want to be a hater but these guys who didn’t like your video, I haven’t seen the smoothness in their vids as I see here and with Dan and Dave.
I’ve been flourishing for 2 years. I have yet to be content with my own material enough to tell anyone else that they are unoriginal. I have yet to be tired of seeing beauty in the “same old” card flourishes.

Well to tell the truth, I think that some people are always criticizing people’s video’s on thecuso.info= =
These are people’s hard work and you should try to appreciate it, and make some good comments. Yeah sure they do use other people’s moves, but how about you? We are not professionals and so maybe we do not have that much of skills do we?
Try to give people good comments.
June 24th, 2009 at 1:06 pm
Yeah man. im with Jacob. People have BLOOD and SWEAT poured into these videos. and most of the time all i see on thecuso is just negative after negative after negative comments. i mean, will it hurt to be nice sometimes? we should encourage to promote the art, not discourage. these comments like “that was close to terrible” i mean, how would you feel if you had put so much effort into something and get shut down like that?
Skill wise, that was an awsome show of Michael’s Talents. slow, smooth, variations were immpeccable. well done.
June 24th, 2009 at 4:08 pm
When you reach a point that you get sick of Dan and dave flourishes, it just means that you’ve watched wayy too much flourishing videos. GTFO there and perform, or do something else productive. stop bitching that everyone does it, because you’ve probably done it at one point or you just dont like it.
@michael, It’d be redundant to point out what has already been said, but the editting, moves and music were beautiful.
June 24th, 2009 at 9:26 pm
I thought it was great. 5/5

For Sale?
June 26th, 2009 at 4:33 pm
yh man, also we should be hating on the real ass holes not to mention any names but chriss angel sucks.. lets start there..
July 2nd, 2009 at 1:28 am
i really dunt care whoose moves were used in the video. all i know is that the video was simply beautiful. the flourishes were very nicely executed, they were just flowing… the video was made and edited in a very well mannered way. the whole thing in total was a complete representation of an art form. so we shud give Herp props for that.
July 2nd, 2009 at 2:07 pm
@sean tell the same to the bucks…
they are doing there flourishes for more than a decade and they dont stai in the same level they go up…
it’s not what you do it’s how you do it….
great vid man.. 10/5

Man, I wish that they would make these as much as they make normal rider backs!, That would make all this commotion about jerry’s a whole lot easier!
