The fan stuff from nebel was pretty cool, shoemans stuff was pretty cool, and ryomas stuff was pretty cool..(even though you couldn’t do those structures with newer cards)(or for laymen..xD)

You are very wrong. De’vo has proven enough for ME, so I trust him. Just because you don’t wan’t to believe him and I do, doesn’t make me a fanboy.
It makes me trusting to his word. Nothing else.
He has not proven he can do what he says, but he also has not proven he can’t either. I do the same thing all the time. Alot of people don’t believe that I can do a king cobra, because I didn’t make a video. I can and don’t really care if they know or not.
Another note: Why do you find ME as “The all knowing, defender of De’vo”? I made on post on my personal blog about it…and that’s why? I never even replied to any of the comments!..lol

you know, Alejandro has a blog with a tagging system for easier browsing… mentioning all these three sub-categories of XCM allows people to find posts about more specific branches of XCM easily… just like you prefer seeing “xcm” written as a category rather than “card handling” which may include gambling sleight, magic and everything…
congratulations for that stupidity demonstration, you sound like webghost, which means a lot about your poor skills at using your brain…
I think what needs originality is your nickname, btw… but it’s not like people will try to get in touch with a poor guy like you so maybe a name is indeed useless…

My GED comes next month and I will be in college next year. Calling me dumb or stupid is obviously not the way to go. I am an unfortunate person. I have to WORK for MONEY, because I have to pay RENT, CAR INSURANCE, PHONE BILLS, ETC>>>!

being 17 is not an excuse to stupidity, I (and thanks god I’m not the only one) was having other projects for myself than army/mcdonald at that time… and above all I’ve never been that much shallow…
to me being successful with life has more to do with “being” rather than “having”… but that may be too hard to understand for a superficial guy anyway…
going to college is truly a better choice (but won’t make you a smart boy all of a sudden :p :p)
Since you go to college you might “wan’t” to write correctly, too… trust me, it helps ;)

well, those are blue 1800 series, not the regular blue bikes, that may have to do with your misunderstanding lol…
and about conditioning the deck for structures and still being HL friendly I guess you have 2 ways :
Darian’s way : use a brown ghost deck (but maybe that’s already where you got that post idea from)
De’vo’s way : use tape

Ok here’s my oppinion:
Why are almost every display not recorded when forming them?….you could have set the more difficult ones up with the other hand, not doing it fluently. The fan sequences were to much the same things, almost everytime closing with the same flip of the deck, which to me ended up beeing a bit boring.
Another thing I absolutly hate, is when the background interferes with what is beeing performed!!! A couch, a guitar and a fire extinguisher??!!! WTF! I remember those items but not the xcm being shown it that particular clip!
My overall comment must be: MORE variation please, more performing the WHOLE sequences instead of just seeing a finished sculpture. Even I can do that with my tiny fingers LOL. You have a pretty long video so it wouldnt have hurt to cut some of the more boring stuff out and let us see some perfomed XCM, routining instead of just single cuts/moves/displays. it will make the videos more interesting to watch in my oppinion.
Lastly you say that this video destroys everything that HL has put out in 3-8 years…. Are you blind?????? Take a look at the Kick-Ass videos and also those from Hands of Sorrow, Digital Artist, Loom & Max. They are doing the things I wanted from you guys: variation, routining and filming the whole god damn thing instead of only small clips.
Let’s see a new video where you do these things and then we can discuss this once more, eventhough I doubt that you can do such a video…

(note: I’m only replying to what you’ve said about me… about the fact you didn’t understand Shoeman’s sentence, maybe if he’s kind enough and has time to waste he can explain again with simpler words)
DocD… the reason why the other structs weren’t shown fully is simply because they start with the same rhombus formation as in the uncut sequence you’ve been shown, and because unlike many people at HL I care about matching the music with my editing and I hate long videos (3:30 for 3 persons is enough imo).
Oh and i’m gonna do something nice… since picturing the one handed formation is too hard for you even after having seen the rhombus and T in S, i’m gonna show you an uncut clip of the long side triple triad totally one handed :

it’s training footage (hence no edit and rather slow) which is older than the collab, have fun looking for my 2nd hand forming the struct…
It’s funny you play the doubtful when it comes to me while you just stupidly buy every claim from De’vo…
It’s even more ridiculous when we add the fact you’ve seen at least what the move looks like from me… I’m not just making a post on a forum saying “I can do a long side triple triad one handed” or “I can do a 9 packets pyramid one handed”… poor guy.
Next time you want to pretend you’re something else than stupid and naive, know that you don’t have to leave the HL forums for it.
oh and the fact you remember the couch the guitar and everything but my struct work (although it was centered on the screen and on the first ground) just makes me think that you do avoid seeing what I do as it reminds you how shitty you are (cf. your pathetic 2 handed pentagon, or the table one, or pretty much anything you’ve ever released… such as the triple D cut inspired by Brad Christian… lmao).
In a future vid I’ll be sure to film only hands on a black BG so your poor little brain won’t have too much information to process at once… or not, I leave that to HL boyz, craving for being the same old jerry clones.

So here we go again! I posted my thoughts on this video , trying not to be judgemental! I stated what you COULD have done with the structures, not saying that this is what you actually did, but that wasn’t clear enough for you so you went defending yourself right again.
Doubtfull of you and ifyou can do your moves? NO I was doubtfull as to whether you can do an varied, well structured perfomance video, not only single shots/clips. And from where do you know what I have seen and not have seen????? You don’t know shit about me so let me tell you a little about myself. I DON’T try to be better than I am! I know I’m not as creative or smooth as others, and am certainly not a pro performer! I do this as a hobby, and try to challenge myself, not to be some hot shot.
Oh yeah lets also bring a several year old MAGIC video of mine in to this discussion. I don’t see what this has to do with YOUR video. Is it time for throwing shit at each other now? Is the only way you can get satisfction by trashing everyone else? I gave my honest critique of your video, thats it, take it or leave it, and I guess you’re doing the last…
Lastly I want to say that the fact I want a clean background doesnt make me a Jerry or De’vo clone, it is just so I can see and focus on the main thing in the video. I don’t give a fuck about your couch, or anything else, just let me see the cards god damnit! What is next from you? a crotch shot video? just so anyone can see what a dickhead you are?? Oh no wait, they will know that after reading your pathetic posts here…

1) de’vo wants to be perceived as the ultimate god of xcm
2) he only showed poor videos according to modern standards in these last years
see how 2) doesn’t go well with 1) ? De’vo is not stupid enough not to release stuff which would actually make him perceived as skillful again if he had some.

It seems I have to say once again that his latest projects were cancelling a DVD (requiring to film stuff) and release a book instead (requiring to take still pictures… oh wait, he could have done this with the other hand, a friend, and unfluently… your reasoning is good but you don’t direct it towards the most obvious culprit…)
if you really want to see the cards, then here’s a simple method : just look at them!
everyone else was able to, why wouldn’t you ? because there’s a background… definitely a good excuse lol
oh and btw, I remember that triple cut as being presented as XCM work and not magic stuff on your old website, sorry :(

I actually come here often to watch the videos which I actualy liked before, so nope De’vo didn’t send me!. This time I felt like posting something due to some of the comments in the thread, but it’s also the last time after this treatment! Someone can’t handle honest critique I guess….
Once again just to be clear, I gave my points of view, but was shittalked because I’m at HL, thats the only reason isn’t it? What would have happend if I had posted my comment under another name? well we won’t know now will we???

The only problem I have with you is you’re pretending you’re honest while you’re not (for example you claim you couldn’t remember what I showed in the vid because of the couch and guitar in BG yet you are very talkative about how I faked those sculptures… which were nonetheless shown over that particular background… “honest”… *facepalm* )

It just seems there are a lot of stupid people on HL (it’s pretty easy to understand why, though).

lol, what “treatment”? if you weren’t incredibly biased and didn’t watch the video with the preconceived notion that you weren’t gonna like it because it was made by haters, or weren’t gonna say it was good so you can move just a little more up the devos favoritism ladder (please, tell me what happens when you reach the top, other than everybody looking at you like your a dog on a leash), people wouldn’t pinpoint to you why your being an idiot. I’d think a 30 y.o “doctor” with a degree in psychology would figure this out. but ryoma is right, it wouldn’t matter if you were from pasteboard syndicate or the magic cafe, the reason your drawing attention to yourself is because your not speaking your own mind, and if you are you’ve actually concinved yourself of the lie that this video actually wasn’t very good. face it, you made up your descision of how you would interpret the vid right when the people involved were introduced… sad, really. although the reason you didn’t like it attributes to my knowledge of the forum your from. So no one is treating you bad because your from hl, they’re simply telling you why your extremely partial, and that of course roots to your views on hl, so it’s completely up to you if you want to be a decent human or part of the hardcore fanboyz.

yeah, that description definitely fits members like Doc D who are amongst the “hardcore HLers”, as we could just witness.
or people like de’vo who have been caught several time using fake usernames on various forums and youtube, always acting as his own fanboy…
I wonder where all of the quality members you’re talking from are… HL population is mainly composed of NEWCOMERS. Most of the longtimers are gone… even if “De’vo” tries to give the illusion people like Ciappi and Fatfingerz are still around… truth is they don’t post anymore (I remember that thread “ask questions to Ciappi” in the XB2 forums… 10 questions, not a single answer… lol)
For the most part it’s obvious people end up being tired of being treated like shit in a forum where the only things you’re allowed to say are “‘Thanks for sharin’” or “wow can’t wait!” (and of course when anything at any price just has to be bought…), and I guess Sean is right about nothing happening when you “reach the top” lol, disappointment is a plausible reason to leaving the forums.
I find it pathetic HL, despite “having the world’s best”, organizing a lot of stuff such as flashcard radio, XCM tournament*, artist weeks etc… can’t manage to get a forum at least half as active as decknique which was just “left open” after T11 was inaugurated…
* about that incredible tourney, since we’re at it… I hope you do realize it’s the “most respected” just because it’s the only one lol (XCM is not a term used elsewhere than at HL…).
The final round was once again “elite” work :p judges had to decide who was the winner between a live perf without a public, and a live perf with only the most basic moves (except of course the amazing blindfolded card fan… lol I wonder if the winner regards his title as serious stuff or if he just plays HL game…)

Wow, the level of immaturity among the large majority of you is mind-blowingly low. “I hate ur forumz, ourz is awesome”… I don’t give a damn about any of that, because I am one for the artform, and i enjoy practising it. I don’t care if you call it cardistry, XCM, a sub-category of magic, whatever, a name is a name, and this is what we do, what I am a part of.
SO, about the video – I think the biggest issue is practicality. So you can make a huge nine-packet pyramid in one hand. I can certainly respect the patience, skill and dexterity necessary for such a feat. However, is it truly practical? Can you go BAM and there’s a pyramid right there in one hand, or do people have to watch for two agonising minutes for you to painstakingly position each packet one at a time. If that’s the case, i’d take the Viereck over the SuperPyramid any day.
Secondly, i agree with Doctor D’s comment about the background. I would’ve been a matter of simplicity for you guys to find a clean background, and would’ve made the video much more professional looking. All there will be is you and the cards.
Third – This may be just me, but i did not like the music choice.
Fourth – In general, good execution of techniques, but really not much mindblowing, original, or new. Your performance and presentation stood out more than your techniques.
So, conclusion – I think you guys have a potential, but it’s your responsibility to work hard, explore, and grab the win. I don’t care if you want to kick HL’s ass, you don’t do it by flaming away on TheCuso or anywhere else, you do it by being a man and taking action, in your case, by coming out with a video that can TRULY and HONESTLY be called epic.
I look forward to that day.

Well, Nebel, then pretend i’m a layperson. Make the assumption that i have never made a video ever in my entire life and sneer at me, whatever you like. I saw what i saw, and i gave you some objective criticisms, something you can hold onto, keep in mind, and improve yourself with.
If you have any rebuttal, doe it against my criticisms, not against any assumption you hold against me like how many vids i make, or how i’m not posting under my real name, or how i agree with Doc D cos he’s from HL or whatever. If you can object to any of the criticisms i posted, please do so.

I don’t have anything against you, but I hate it when random people hold over-the-top speeches when they don’t have anything to back their talk up.
About the ‘laymen point of view’ thingy… this is not a video for laymen. If we made a video for laymen, it would look completely different.

We know what we like about videos and what not. We didn’t ask for some random (t11 magician?) guy to give us his 2 cents.

yeah Alejandro, I find it would be a good thing to reveal the IP (or just the last 2 numbers for gravatar members, and the full IP for the others).
I’m just gonna say something about the pyramid… it took 1 minute to be formed, and the formation itself is a recasting sequence… you get to see a pentagon, then a square in a pentagon, then a house, then an additional triangle to the house, then a pyramid (and everything is shown in that vid about its formation, mr smart boy… your deduction skills seem to be really poor and make your nickname so ironic :/).
The square (let’s just call a dog a dog) is just 1 basic structure, what you say is as idiotic as “I’d form a card triangle rather than a triple triad anytime!” or “I’d do a thumb cut rather than a 1 handed cut sequence”.

(Ok, XCMeijin told us over youtube that he was that “Lawliet” guy, for those who would have wanted to know. He told he wasn’t trying to hide that fact therefore I’m not saying this here in order to hurt him. I’m saying this because I want to add I now feel really sad for him as I clearly see that post was driven by a lot of frustration, considering his work showcased in his various vids.)
Most importantly, I wanted to thank people like Tarvi, Tutorial men, Lang (ps: you’re in the credits man ;) I just love your “raise that last card” concept for structure work ), Dimitri, Sean, etc… (and i’m sorry for the others but you know who you are, you know I thank you) for their kind words.
It’s a pity more time was allowed to reply to meaningless comments from haters than to reply to those who really deserve it.
Thanks again guys, I’ll try to push my boundaries once again for the next vid :)
