Twitter XCM: Xtreme Community Messaging
Posted on: January 11, 2009It’s been a while since i got a twitter account, you read a couple of posts about twitter in the past but now i thought i should write about it once again. 
The first months i found it to be a bit boring so i mainly used it to send free sms text messages to my friends. Then twitter restricted the sms service to the US only so i stopped using it for a while. 
But now Twitter has become the Next Big Thing among the card guys. Almost everyone has already got an account and is having fun with it. Are you going to miss it? I’ve heard that sometimes people post tweets with links to exclusive videos you won’t be able to find elsewhere. 
You can use Twitter to tell your followers what are you doing , where have you been, how many drinks you had last night, when will your Vegas finish rendering your next video, what tv series are you watching, what flourish are you practicing, post interesting links to weird stuff, cheap card auctions …I’m going to make a list of the card guys i’m following that you might be interested in.

I use it with http://www.netvibes.com and my nokia n95 8gb but there are iphone/ipod touch clients to tweet on the go.
give it a try and you’ll be addicted in no time.

David, im with thecuso on this one, when you first get it, you post what you had for breakfast and then think its boring, but as you follow more and more people, and they follow you etc, its gets a lot more interesting..
right now thecuso and kevin are having a contest to see who can get the most people to sign up, i guess this is the cuso’s ace up his sleeve (pun intended)…

@Joe: Yeah, so far most of the new card Tweeters Cuso hooked seem to just post stuff like ‘just ate a sammich’ or ‘flourishing’ – seems they take the ‘What are you doing now?’ prompt too literally.
I think the shoutbox description is by far the best analogy for Twitter – it’s like the world’s largest shoutbox, except you can hone in on just the people that you care about. That way you get news, updates and all the latest happenings right on your Twitter homepage – pretty fascinating stuff.

Even for having only 19 followers myself, it’s a great way to communicate and share ideas, thoughts, or whatever is on your mind. Anyone just trying it out will get addicted to it, I swear.
