They have absolutely no idea of what good magic is. All they do is flutter their cards around like some no life morons, showing that they have absolutely no life and spent it all on fiddling on a deck of cards. The left twin totally blew subway for the right one, you can’t just destroy that climax. This is not magic, this is bragging like shit for having no life. Now lets not deny that these, are idols of many. and they sure do flourishing the right way. But magic, please look into the classics for some entertainment.

ps: Bash all you like

RC i kind of see the point on your statements but chill bro! i have put the videos here not because of their magic but for their flourishing which is very good.
I though think this video wasn’t pre-set so they were just playing around not showcasing their true skills, probably they were tired of lecturing so they did those tricks all rushed and not paying much attention to them.
Anyway, it’s always nice to see the idols mess up so that we know they are humans :P
what do you guys think?
December 18th, 2008 at 8:50 pm
ha i like the way dave was doin the theory11 music as he was flourishing
December 18th, 2008 at 8:57 pm
I think you’re right Cuso, this is them being natural, messing around, and ENJOYING themselves as much as was possible in the circumstances, what do you expect, the pressure on them is huge RC, you have to understand that they need a let out now and then. And performing live is a whole lot different to what most people know them for.
December 18th, 2008 at 9:04 pm
I think you all are missing the point. I think they are some fantastic flourishers. But a magicians they seem to miss the point. My complaint was not directed to this video but towards their magic as a whole. As it’s missing the core principles of why magic is so great. I understand that the pressure is huge. I think DnD are some fantastic performers of flourishing, i hope for the best in their flourishing future.
December 18th, 2008 at 9:07 pm
I see, I was referring to their magic in the video though.
Anyway, I get your point.
December 18th, 2008 at 10:21 pm
@RC They have some magic pearls, i like the coin toss trick from their Organic booklet for example.
They do a different type of magic, the one people not so into magic like. :)
December 19th, 2008 at 7:43 am
@RC,
Not to sound like a fanboy but you shouldn’t judge them or ANYONE just by their videos and think that you’ve seen it all. I do agree that most of their creations on tricks are pretty balloni, but I’m damn sure they do work on other people’s work as well and they’ve been doing it for over 10 years.
Sorry to say that experience speaks for itself and they’re only promoting their material. I’m sure if you actually session with these guys in person you’ll seem them do a lot of other things besides their own.
Besides, let them do whatever the hell they want. I don’t understand why you are bashing THEM because you don’t like what they like to do.

^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^
Someone with sense :)
I couldn’t have summed it up better.
December 19th, 2008 at 2:35 pm
The cuso:
The fact is that their magic is only liked by other magicians and flourishers, have you ever gotten anything else out of tivo than just “wow”? I do agree that i like subway as i think that their approach to the effect is brilliant.
Eddie:
Now the fact is that i am just addressing their material, NOTHING else, i’m addressing the same old material they have been promoting for more than a year.
And i’m sure that they have practiced their asses off but really is it worth it? Just look at them? They do some crazy stuff with cards, and for us every new move looks fantastic, but to a layperson it all looks the same. And i would absolutely love to session with them, their card technique is excellent, but i was just referring to their own material which, whilst visual the spectator doesn’t know what the hell just happened, just listen to the reaction in the first video. The guy performs TIVO 2.0 perfectly and the guy says “wow”, and not like “WOW! that is craaaazy!” but “wow, you’re good with cards”
December 19th, 2008 at 4:52 pm
There’s more to a quiet “wow” than meets the ears though, they might go home and wonder at how on earth you did it, but not tell you. I know that’s what happens to me sometimes, I just don’t know what do say :)
“WOW that is craaaaazy”, tends to be an extrovert personality, or someone who is a little on the drunk side of tipsy. Either that or you present the trick extremely well I suppose…
Anyway, great videos Cuso ;)

RC i think your forgeting the point here…
this is just a display of DnD laying off for the first time in a long time.
They specialize in impromptu magic. They are just fantastic at flourishes. But they did blow off they’re childhood doing this, but so what?
thats they’re choice in the end, and you know what? It turned out great for them. They are recognized all over the world by magician and flourishers.
You cant bash on them just because they’re not doing something more astonishing like stage magic or something. They are card magicians…
We have to be able to sit back and appreciate what anybody does.
Lets stay together and remember why we love this art so much, because thats what it is, an ART. Whether its a sketch, a sculpture, a portrait, or abstract.
Things like this pull the community apart.
RC whether you like Dan or Dave, or their tricks, you have to respect them. Not many have had the impact they’ve had on the community.
thats all i have to say…

AMEN!!

Tarvi
It’s not the spectator it’s the magician. I have a friend who can get any reaction out of everyone
NYX:
Now what’s the point i’m missing? The fact is that i do respect them and think they have awesome flourishing material. But their magic lacks.. magic. I’m not saying that they aren’t great at fluttering cards around like crazy. Just that to the spectator it all looks the same.
They can do more astonishing things with a deck of cards. It’s called classics.
Now i may be a bit old fashion when it comes to card magic but that’s because this “visual” bullshit doesn’t work. Sure all magicians and flourishers drool on the sight of tivo. But it doesn’t do the trick.
as i said this complaint was not directed to this video but towards their magic as a whole. Nothing personal, and I’m sure you guys are taking this a lot more personal than DnD are, as they don’t give a shit what some douche, who wont even show his face, thinks about them.
And comments like these are just an opinion. They may just aswell get the community closer together, from discussing what Dan And Dave might be doing wrong. And the day when DnD fanboys are gone will never come.
I might have sounded a bit harsh and i apologize for that.

“It’s not the spectator it’s the magician. I have a friend who can get any reaction out of everyone”
You misunderstood me…
I was referring to a strong reaction, or just a… “wow…. *silence*”
There’s always a reaction, it is often depending on the spectator, how they relate to the trick, and how you present it, which determines what sort of reaction it is.
January 17th, 2009 at 7:49 pm
Dan and Dave have really come to be the magician’s magician…
no layman will ever say “yeah, once i saw these two guys Dan and Dave and they did this one trick…”
instead you get…
Yeah once i saw this one guy named David Blaine/Criss Angel and they did this flamming boat stunt…”
but we have to admit to a whole card tricks arent the most astonishing tricks in the world.
but they’re more mobile, and a preferred style by alot of people.
RC i apologize if what i say came off a bit harsh, ui understand what you were trying to say. You just personally dont like DnD’s Magic, and thats totally reasonable.
just the way you said it in the first post, it sounded like you were insulting the twins.
P.S. I like DnD alot, but nobody beats Bill Malone and Paul Harris.

HABILIDAD = ARTE, así pues:
-Florituras = ARTE
-Trucos muy difíciles = ARTE

Hola, ¿que tal TheChuso?, he visto q preguntabas q q pensamos.
