Is a brick of Jerry’s Nuggets worth $1500?

Today i stumbled upon an auction for a brick of Jerry’s Nugget Casino playing cards at eBay.
For those of you that are not familiar with the terminology, a brick means a case of twelve decks of playing cards not the cubic piece of concrete used to build the casino back in the days.
The funny thing is that this so called brick is up for grabs for $1500 (USD) if you buy it now, a hilarious amount of money for any average card punk like everyone of us.
But lets take a closer look at the price…
Jerry’s Nugget Playing Cards. ONE DOZEN DECKS BOXED
1500/12 equals $125 for each sealed deck which, considering the prices they are being sold lately, it’s quite cheap actually.
We all saw these decks sell for over 250 bucks each, and we keep seeing this like every day.
Of course you can get an opened pack for much less but if you plan on reselling them in some years this could be your way to start, i mean, it’s now or never.
Lee Asher commented somewhere in this blog that he used to buy these decks for .50 at the Jerry’s Nugget casino back then but now you wont see them for less than $150 easily.
If you dont trust me you can always go to eBay and search for finished items and you’ll see what i’m talking about.

No. I don’t see the point in wasting so much money on cards. For 1500 dollars, you could get 501 packs of tally hos off penguin magic.

I don’t have any jerry’s so I really can’t say whether or not those are indeed worth as much.
But since the cards are a bit hyped, and I would like to have them myself, I do think it’s an attractive price… IF they were sold separately, together they are just too pricey. I mean come on! They are still pieces of paper!!! (Expensive paper, that is. Because if you say a deck has 52 cards + jokers that would mean you’d pay (1500/(54*12)=) $2.31 for pieces of paper…..)
If I could change the price of the Jerry’s they would be about 10 bucks each. This is still expensive, but regarding that they are rare and all, I think it’s a fair price.
But if you’d ask what I’d pay for the Jerry’s on ebay, it would probably be in the 100-150 region. Luckily for me I don’t look at auctions for Jerry’s, mostly because they won’t ship to Holland anyway.

I find it ridiculous. Even if the cards were, say, 10x better than a pack of Tally’s, that wouldn’t make half the price they’re selling at.
Supposed I wouldn’t be able to sell it for more, I wouldn’t pay more than 30-40 bucks to try one. Just because I’m curious. I would probably regret it though.

Well i dont find it ridicolous, is not like a normal deck, not in the terms of felling or materials. I mean that is a collectors deck, it was made for an old casino not more opened. I think its more for that, than for doing flourishes or magic with it. I will never use it for this!! I will use a tally-ho instead.
About the price I dont now, i think i will pay up to 150$. But i dont now. About shipping to Holland, the shipping to all Europe is some sort the same. I have bought alot from USA and i live in Spain, including 2 jerrys.
Sorry for my expression as i said i´m spanish.

Hah! Never expected you to say that cool cards like Jerrys are “just pieces of paper”, Charfield xD And yeah, like Alejandro says: why won’t they ship to our country, Charfield?
Anyways, I would definately want to buy a deck of Jerrys for $150, that’s just extreamly cheap compared to what you buy for them now on the internet! But to buy all 12 decks at once, well… that’s a diffrent story!
If I had the money, I think I could make some serious buisness out of this because there are tons of magicians/flourishers/card collectors around the world who would pay you more then 150 for one deck of Jerrys!
Let say you bougt all 12 for $1500, and resell 11 of them for $165 each, which is a total of $ 1650. You will save 1650-1500=150 dollars, which is exactly the price you’ve paid for one deck of the 12!
This means, if you buy all 12 now for $1500, and sell 11 decks (seperate) for $165 or more (which is a very reasonable price on eBay!), you will save one deck of Jerry’s for your self, and make some mony out of this! = one free Jerry’s + $ :D
But, unfortunately, I DON’T have the f*king $1500 -.-
But, we could always bid on this of course…
What do you think, Charfield? You 6, me 6 for $750? :P

Kyarox: I think the majority of the people buying Jerry’s is buying it for flourish / magic. Check mebeam or all the videos on youtube & co. It’s all about showing you have Jerry’s.

I wouldnt pay over 200 dollars for that whole damn brick….with 1500 dollars i could buy at least 500 tally’s!
wich are soooo much better and worth more than some crap nuggets.
nuggets are overdrawn and are only popular because lee asher and dan and dave used them in there videos…..im getting 2 packs of nuggets for collection for 40 bucks…and thats expensive for me cause its just a deck of fuckin cards…if your paying 200 dollars for a pack of cards your a dumbass…..there going to start making nuggets again in the future probably anyways……and they’ll come in BLACK……people are gonna shit when there only like 10 bucks…lmfao
