Important Poll: Publish the HL files or not?

Ok guys, i’ve opened this poll because I want to see if I’d get your support if I happened to post the HL Files / De’vo Behind the Scenes / Handlordz exposed / De’ vinci code / whatever, here in the blog.
I do this to cover my back in case I end up with a dagger stabbed in my neck or deadly bitten by a King Cobra.
I’m not sure if this is going to do me any good or any bad, i just happen to have the files as many other people do and i thought that it would be good to open people’s eyes.
I wouldn’t do this for any personal profit. I wouldn’t do this for revenge, i didn’t get banned or anything. I wouldn’t do this to ruin anyone’s career.
I’d do this for the pure and objective information about the history of our Art.
I want you guys to participate in the comments section of this post and encourage people that have been involved to do it aswell.
I’d also like to see some Handlordz / Superhandz people comment here in a friendly way.
I know these are private conversations and stuff but there are some articles that are interesting. To name one that caught my attention the “Pro XCMers vs Kutkiddies” thread.
I think this whole thing won’t end up splitting us more but can be the definitive way to join and unite everyone that share the love of playing card flourishing and manipulation, xtreme or not.
I’d like to see the big names contributing with their thoughts without disrespecting anyone and talking like if we were adults for once.
Of course if you are against this initiative i’d suggest you to contact me to thecuso@gmail.com before trying to hack the site or anything like that.
Let’s be friends and we will all buy your dvds and products in the future.
Having enemies doesn’t lead anywhere, keep this in mind.

I don’t think it’s appropriate to post a ton of private conversations, personal information etc – but if you think anything specific, like the article on ProXCM’ers vs KutKiddies, is interesting or thought-provoking, why not email de’ and ask if you can include it on your blog.

It seems like the only reason people can give for not wanting these up is that it’s ‘personal information.’ Fine. Just leave out all the telephone numbers and email conversations, and leave the important stuff that needs to be seen: evidence of an overly-egotistical community’s wayward mindset from Day 1 to present day.

I do not agree with warz.
I don´t have much time to see what happens in all foruns,when i saw this blog for about 3 weeks ago, i´ve been learning a lot with the tutorials and interviews.

Anyone who says that these shouldn’t be posted are misguided. Yes, these are “private conversations.” So were the Nixon tapes. Exposing these conversations – however “private” in nature only reinforces what everyone has been saying for years. It removes, with utter completeness, any doubt.

Posting them would be interesting however reading into them you find who de’vo is – name, address, and even a nearly full picture. Posting some of it would be alright but not all of the details.

You should post it, there’s not any reason for not doing so, and there are many reasons for posting it. We shouldn’t keep those conversations a secret, because they could help the whole flourishing community.

It will be enlightening, but I don’t see how it could really help the community. If anything, I think it would drive them farther apart.
If you really think it will help, and want just the convos posted, you should erase the names and leave the convos, though for some of them it will be really obvious who said them.

My vote is to post it up.
It removes any false claims, questions of doubt etc.
Unless its confidential (Phone numbers etc) Post it up.

Post it, leave out “private stuff” such as phone #s and addresses if there are any.
By the way, uploading this actually does help…it prevents this happening again in the future. Trust me when I say it’s happened more than once. Same techniques, same phrases, same style to get the people involved feel like they’ve done wrong.
If one doesn’t want to see it…one is not forced but rather the public should have a choice. Those that don’t wan’t to see are afraid to come face to face with the sad truth.

These files shows that De’vo is a pretty big jerk who thinks quite alot of himself.
Well I think you should post them just to tell him there we are not afraid of him and wont tolerate his behavior.
Plus, it doesn’t matter if its “private conversations” or not. Imagine if we where running a trial and no one where allowed to use any material gathered from “private conversations”. Then it wouldn’t be possible to run any trials at all.

i’m Dinos from HandLordz forums.
although i’m not a member here, i’ve been informed about this post, and since you are inviting HL people to comment i would like to say what i think:
-as been said, these are private conversations, so i believe we should respect people’s privacy.
-violating other people’s privacy and/or unauthorized publishing violates copyright law.
-a few months ago De’vo apologized to the card community and a new era of friendship between card communities has began(collab vids entitled “United Card Artists” were made). So i don’t think that this nice climate should be ruined.
-generally speaking, it doesn’t matter if some, love or hate De’vo. He is the leader of the XCM community and he gave alot of fights to separate XCM as an Artform, and nobody can disagree with that.
-Personally, i respect all card communities, either its card magic, cardistry, flourishing, etc. I’m into XCM and i know this: if anyone wants to be respected he has to respect first :)
these are my thoughts. hope i didn’t offend anyone.

Hello, I am Narcissus from HL and thought another perspective from us (HLers) might be helpful. I understand the curiosity, I’m curious too and I’ll be honest, I’ve looked for the files. After several weeks of thought though I’m not sure I understand, in the grand scheme of things, how this is relevant to the history of the art. Do you really think that 10 years from now anybody is going to remember De’ for what is in these files? No, they will remember his work and contributions to the art and let’s be honest, all, if not most of you will buy whatever he puts out because we all know it’s the best of what’s out there. These files will be just a blip on the radar of history of XCM/Flourishing/Cardistry because regardless of what kind of person you all think De’ is, it’s his creativity, generosity, and gift for teaching that draws us (HLers)to his side of the community.
I personally think you feel it’s wrong to post them, otherwise you would have done it already without asking others if they think it’s ok.

Many people have allready seen the files but I think it would be fair for others to see them too if thei’re interested. If someone doesn’t want to see it, he won’t check it out.
It would be good to leave out telephone numbers and stuff tho…thinkg like that REALLY aren’t meant for public.

To be brutally honest ALL the hate I have seen in the past couple of months has been from Decknique and now here? wtf is going on?
I havent even seen De’vo post for ages, certianly not any hate, so this all seems all seems like a pathetic sucker punch, that can only hurt the art.
I know most of the replies this blog will get will be from angry teenagers who care more for an argument than the art (probably triple posters). Their voice will be loudest and this stuff will probably get posted, all it will do for thecuso is show him up as someone who
spread the hate more than anyone else.

I agree with the hate issue and that it’s rediculous, but I think the cuso is causing more problems here than anything else. Maybe you had good intensions with this but it’s just causing everybody to act like children (or maybe they are children).
Darian is right, the HL people that have posted here are being cooler about it than the majority of you (I said majority not all of you) which is surprising given the supposed reputation that HL has.
Here’s the thing, sure De’ might have said some pretty bad stuff, might have done some pretty bad stuff but that doesn’t mean that all of the HL guys are shit or are mindless cult members, most of them are just focused and don’t feel it’s necessary to deal with all of this bullshit because it does nothing to further the art.
Go ahead and post it, I don’t think it will have the reaction that some of you want it to have though.

@ andrei – it is a bad analogy to associate private forum posts, with committing a crime like murder. I did LOL at the punching baby comment. I know you and a bunch of other guys got hella beef with de’vo, from stuff a couple years ago, but that doesn’t mean ya’ll should try to mess with the mind of n00bs.
like shoeman says, can you IMAGINE if we had our private conversations released for the world to see? I know my girlfriend would probably kick my ass first… Then I’d probably be assigned a psychatrist.
I think theCuso started this thread because he likes to get comments and readers on his blog, LOL it’s not like he didn’t know what most people would say.
Just because a bunch of kids want to see them released doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do… look at what has HL done for the community: (to name just a few)
Jerry’s routining clinic, World XCM tournament (getting XCM on T.V. to millions of viewers!!!), DVDs like XB to bring the next n00b generation to XCM, etc.
Now what have YOU done for the community and the art of XCM? would releasing files like this help, or hurt the community?

Why are some people trying to exacerbate a problem they were recently campaigning to eliminate??
From an ‘older’ manipulator and lurker and a complete nuetrals (is that allowed?) point of view- I don’t know all the details of the past, and will not waste my time in researching it even if this ‘info’ is posted (I’m here to develop as an artist, not to pick sides, or find out who called who ‘ghey’ first)-
I have sadly witnessed a real lack of integrity from several esteemed proponents of this art, people who should be spending their valuable time developing their fine talents rather than acting like well.. dicks..
these people surely know these actions will only cause more conflict within THEIR art. It does not matter who started it guys, really.
This kind of needless drama is making the art look like a laughing stock. Don’t we get enough shit already guys?

Sean please learn to read the blog. Cuso posted that if he published these files then devo would do a lawsuit on his candy ass. He would also shut this site down. Besides why get so worked up about something that happened over the internet. Is it that hard to get a life?
