Over the years we have seen websites, forums, blogs and people in the flourishing world come and go. They all left their own legacy, but for one reason or another left the flourishing world as a whole. Some of these websites, blogs and people are still with us, but where is it all going?
Purely-flourishing/XCM/cardistry/etc communities have been in existence since around 2001, and since that time the world of flourishing has grown, shrunk, and gone through a number of changes over the years. We’ve had our golden years, dark ages, and everything in between. So where to now? Well, I suppose the best way to figure this out is to take a look at what we have coming into (and already existing in) the scene:
The flourish-group Virtuoso has returned with a vengeance and is said to be working on a DVD
Theory11 has grounded itself and is growing
De’vo is working on two new DVDs, Xtreme Beginnerz Vol. 2 and Schattenreich as well as having his 2008 world card manipulation tournament
Decknique is going strong a one of the largest and most active card-manipulation communities out there
TheCuso’s own blog is getting more attention
A number of other artists are working on things behind the scenes
Quite a bit coming, eh? We have a lot to look forward to, and I feel that these changes will all have a significant impact on the flourishing world.
Given all of this, I feel that the card world will get a major jump-start soon. With all that’s in the works and being released and whatnot I’d say that we’ll soon be entering a “golden age” in the card flourishing world; a time of heavy involvement from manipulators, lots of videos, lots of ideas, and lots of learning. I also estimate that this “golden age” will be reached around late 2008 or early 2009.
Don’t expect this to happen all by itself, though. You guys need to get out there and participate, post, make videos, and help keep the card world alive in your own way.
I look forward to seeing you all from the inside of your computer screens, very soon.

Very true.
We in germany and justflourish.de are looking forward on getting more members in the community and making flourishing popular in Germany.
We’re also hoping of getting on TV with it. I mean, penspinning is very often on TV, and even dice stacking (wtf?).
So I bet the flourishing scene will grow a lot!
