“Ladies and Gentleman, allow me to introduce, the One and Only…. Jonas Haglund“

Personal Information:

My name is Jonas, I’m 20 years old and I live in Sweden.

How long have you been into cards?

I’ve been doing cards for over a decade, but not very seriously until 4-5 years back when I made my first order from a magic-shop.

What’s your favourite flourish?

I’m a bit obsessed with Brian Tudor’s “Very Bad Habit” right now.

What’s you favourite magician?

I look up to David Acer. I like his performance style and he’s got lots of nice effects.

How about your favourite flourisher?

I’d go with Huron Low. He’s way ahead of most of us and has a lot of fresh ideas, he never fails to inspire me.

Who do you think is going to hit hard in the future?

I don’t really know what the future has to offer. I’m hoping there’s some people out there like De’vo, who have done their stuff for decades and appears out of nowhere and brings the art to new levels.

What are your plans for the future?

I’m not planning to quit cards anytime soon. I’m starting to get tired of the online-scene though, so I might just become a fly on the wall in the future and observe without actually taking part.

What cards do you use?

I use Bicycles and Tally Ho’s most of the time, I don’t really see the reason of using expensive out-of-print cards. No matter the price, they’re still just pieces of cardboard to your spectators. Might as well treat them that way.

What do you think about the current situations with magic/flourishing communities?

The rivalry between communities is a shame, it would go much more smoothly if everyone was cooperating. I don’t really know what’s about to happen next though, the deal with Theory 11 and such is making future a bit unclear.
